Your Account is Locked (Macbook). Unlock Macbook Without Losing Data

If you have been locked out of your MacBook due to multiple failed login attempts or a forgotten password, you can unlock your MacBook without losing any data by following these steps:

·         Restart your MacBook: Press and hold the power button until your MacBook shuts down. Wait a few seconds, then press the power button again to restart your MacBook.

·         Boot into recovery mode: As your MacBook starts up, press and hold the Command + R keys until the Apple logo appears. This will boot your MacBook into recovery mode.

·         Launch Terminal: In the recovery mode, click on the "Utilities" menu and select "Terminal" from the drop-down menu.

·         Enter resetpassword command: Type in "resetpassword" (without the quotes) and press the Return key.

·         Select your user account: A new window will appear with a list of user accounts. Select your account and click on "Next".

·         Reset the password: Enter a new password for your account and confirm the password. You can also add a password hint if you want. Click on "Reset Password" to save the new password.

·         Restart your MacBook: Quit the reset password window, and restart your MacBook. You should now be able to log in using your new password.

Note: If you have enabled FileVault encryption on your MacBook, you will need to enter your FileVault recovery key to unlock your disk after resetting your password. If you don't have the recovery key, you won't be able to access your data, and you may need to erase your MacBook and restore it from a backup.
