Fix: User Profile Service Failed the Logon - User Profile Cannot be Loaded (HD)


Method 1:
Start Computer in Safe Mode by pressing F8 during POST (Startup)
1. To fix the user profile, click Start and type regedit into the search box and press Enter.

2. Registry Editor will launch and you need to navigate to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
3. Find your user profile by clicking S-1-5 folder and double-click the ProfileImagePath entry to find out which user account it relates to. (If your folder name ends with .bak or .ba follow Microsoft's instructions to rename them.)
4. double-click RefCount and change the Value data to 0 and click Ok.
5. Now double-click on State and make sure the Value data is again 0 and click Ok.
6. Close regedit and restart your PC. You should now be able to log into your account.




Method 2:
1. Boot into Safe mode by pressing f8 during restart.
2. Open Control Panel and click User Accounts and Family Safety. Click on User Accounts.
3. Click Manage another account.
4. Click Create a New Account and type Account Name and Select Administrator
5. Restart computer and logon to new user. Copy old user files (desktop,my documents,pictures,videos etc) from c:\users folder to new User folder.
